July at The Piermont was a month of arrivals. The first post of the month was a resident asking whether anyone had a moving company to recommend, and within the hour five neighbors had answered with names: Moving of America, Top Notch Movers, A Piece of Cake Movers, Ridgewood Moving, and Unwind Moving. That thread set the tone for everything after it, because most of what happened here in July was residents helping each other land.
Introductions came steadily. A couple posted that they were moving in during August with their two year old mini dachshund. A family who splits time between here and Florida introduced themselves along with their two young sons. A resident wrote that they had moved in mid June and already loved every minute, describing the community as full of friendly people.
The Piermont has ten active groups on the community platform, and several of them were doing real work in July. The Golf group, with 11 members, saw a new resident post an open invitation to put the simulator to use and get introduced over a warm up session or a round, which is a good use of an on-site amenity that residents can share. In the Pickleball group, a resident scouting nearby courts posted that they were heading to Prestige Pickleball open play on a Sunday morning and that slots were still open, roughly 17 minutes from the building.
The Dog Group, at 17 members, produced the warmest post of the month. A resident who does not have a dog with them yet introduced themselves anyway, said they missed their family's three dogs back home, and offered to play with any neighbor's dog with the owner's permission. Elsewhere in the group, new dogs in the community were greeted the way you would expect.
The Foodie Group is the largest interest group at 29 members, with the Tasting Club at 20, Reality TV Watchers at 9, the NYC Commute group at 8 for residents heading into the city. Marketplace has 109 members.
Setting up a new apartment drove most conversation. A resident needed an electric drill to assemble furniture and had two neighbors offering one within ten minutes. In Marketplace, a resident offered a never used twin mattress free to anyone in the building, with a protective sheet included and delivery within the building offered, available for two weeks. Other listings included an area rug and a sectional. Residents also traded practical questions about commuting, including how to get the best price on round trip train tickets into Hoboken.
Every request posted in July got an answer: movers, a drill, a golf partner, a pickleball court, a welcome. Residents are also starting groups around what they actually do, from golf and pickleball to food, commuting, and reality TV.
August brings the Summer Splash BBQ at the pool, which already has 31 total RSVPs on the books, and the golf and pickleball groups are still looking for players. If you want to know what it is actually like to live at The Piermont, the honest answer is that you would be joining a community that is being built right now, by the people moving in alongside you. For a lot of renters, that is the best possible time to arrive.
A clear sign of life at The Piermont is the steady stream of introductions in the main chat feed of our community platform. New residents post to say hello, share a little about themselves, and let everyone know when they are moving in. The mix of people is part of the charm. Some are empty nesters downsizing from large homes, some are young couples setting up their first place together, and at least one household is moving back to Bergen County after years in Hoboken. Some are arriving with dogs, including Golden Retrievers, a chocolate Lab, and a poodle mix.
These are not one line posts that go ignored. When one neighbor announced their move-in date, another replied that they had the next day off work and offered to help carry things in. That kind of generosity, offered to someone they had never met, tells you a lot about the tone people are setting here.
The resident Marketplace is already active with 48 members. One of the first posts was a neighbor giving away leftover bubble wrap and moving bags rather than tossing them, so someone else's move could be a little easier. Small things like a found earbud being dropped at the office and reunited with its owner show a community that looks out for one another.
There is creativity here too. In the Foodie Group, a resident shared that they spent their first weekend baking sourdough and getting used to the new oven in their apartment. It is a small moment, but it captures what these early days feel like.
The Piermont is so new that the resident events calendar is just getting started and with a foundation that points to an active social scene ahead.
Residents have already organized themselves into groups built around shared activities, and several of those groups exist specifically to bring people together in person. The Dog Group is planning neighborhood walks and puppy playdates. The Foodie Group describes itself as being all about food and friends, with potlucks and shared meals on the horizon. The Tasting Club is set up for residents to explore wine, beer, and cocktails together, and the Reality TV Watchers group has formed around watch nights.
For a prospective resident, this matters because it shows the social momentum is already here. The people planning these get togethers are your future neighbors, and the calendar is theirs to fill.

As more residents settle in and answer these prompts, the property's shared list of neighborhood go-to spots is growing week by week.
